Oregon Health & Science University - Internal Medicine & Geriatrics
Manage all operations of an ambulatory internal medicine academic practice; duties include administration & financial management, change management in a tier 3 medical home; investing in process improvement by using lean techniques in an academic environment.
Work with team to integrate and improve services for patients such as behavioral health, chronic disease management, women's health, HIV care, medication assisted therapy and geriatric care.
Responsible for operational oversight of two additional primary care clinics to ensure quality healthcare is offered to all patients. Provide supportive environment to ensure clinics success.
Provide high level administrative collaboration with key leaders such as Medical Directors, Section Chief, Ambulatory VP, Division Administrator, and other key stakeholders.
Provide direction and oversight of Westside primary care as well as future primary care expansions as necessary. Works in collaboration with Family Medicine Director of patient care services to serve as the Westside Primary Care Leadership Dyad.
Interact and build relationships with OHSU hospital and clinics, School of Medicine, OHSU practice plan, OHSU specialty partners, community partners and others for the enhancement of primary care.
Recruit, coach, employ and evaluate staff including practice managers, supervisors, patient access specialists, medical assistants, billing coordinators, data analysts, RN care Managers, pharmacy care managers, social workers, panel coordinators and managed care coordinators.
Provides direction and oversight of Westside primary care as well as future primary care expansions as necessary. Works in collaboration with Family Medicine Director of patient care services to serve as the Westside Primary Care leadership dyad.
Interacts with and builds relationships with OHSU hospital and clinics, school medicine, OHSU practice plan, OHSU partners, community partners and others for the enhancement of primary care.
Monitor and ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, AFSCME, ONA , CMS.
Develop and operationalize clinic policies, procedures and standard workflows including those pertaining to pharmacy dispensing, administrative protocols, practice management, patient flow, recruitment and employment.
Provide leadership to maintain Lean practices such as the daily management system, going to the gemba and continuous improvement methods through Lean tools.
Collaborate on the development of the clinical strategic plan with all key participants and stakeholders.
Prepare and implement plans for developing, building and improving clinical programs within the division of Internal Medicine as well and OHSU primary care collaborative with a special focus on growth of the clinical enterprise and transformation of primary care in order to achieve the quadruple aim.
Contribute to the vision and strategic planning for internal medicine to move forward with process improvement work by ensuring employee, provider and resident involvement in order to sustain improvement efforts.
Participate in developing the vision and strategic plan for OHSU primary care expansion efforts, working with a diverse team to include Adventist and Tuality.
