  • Effective Iteration Backlog management (Kanban) to ensure JIRA tickets pending from iteration is not more than 3-4 (periodic blocker resolution and clarification of doubts).
  • Ensured that there is always a steady stream of work for team members (100% work allocation) and proper distribution of tickets across feature-sets (UI, back-end, etc.)
  • Have always advocated good coding practices and suggested exhaustive coding samples (e.g. Java 8 new features)  to demonstrate the right way of coding during code reviews.
  • Delivered a sub-project (part of first project) in ThoughtWorks Technologies within a short span of 2 months with minimum resources (1 other developer and one Business Analyst).
  • Had completely addressed all aspects of a documented but not working feature in the Event Subsystem, in the very first ticket (when working in Hewlett Packard), and made it 100% functional.

Technical Manager

Identiv Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

  • Manage the FICAM (Federal Identity Credential and Access Management) team of the Identiv Trust Services (ITS) division in Chennai, including task allocation, issue resolution, project roadmap planning, and mentoring and grooming team members.
  • Participate in architecture discussions with Technical Architect and designed several features required to make the code FICAM compliant.
  • Conduct technical walkthroughs to re assess the changes and performed in-depth code reviews to ensure that coding standards are met and good coding practices are followed.

  • Ensured that the tickets are properly prioritized and assigned to iterations, that there are no blockers to prevent completion of tickets within the iteration, and that if the tickets are still not closed, they are properly assigned to subsequent iterations as per priority. Also ensured that the team's performance per iteration is captured as reports under FICAM team's Confluence page for review by other project stakeholders.
  • Provided timely and regular feedback to team members who report to me, and also provided insights and detailed suggestions for their improvement, as part of performance appraisal process.
  • Recruited most of the current ITS division's team members (5 out of the other 8 excluding me), ensuring that their overall technical skills, aptitude and their hands-on coding skills are suitable for the team's requirements.
  • Conducted training in Java for team members from other teams, who had to work in Java to implement some of their features. This training enabled them to complete their task with minimal supervision. Also worked with them to ensure that their low-level design is correct and that their roadblocks are removed.
  • Suggested new technologies like Spring Boot, to make a multi-threaded |JAX-RS web services based application testable. This application now has integration tests to cover all of the existing endpoints. The application is started on embedded Undertow container when the tests are run, and remote asynchronous invocations to the endpoints are simulated using ExecutorService (java).
