Youth Development and Mentoring Program Management

Managing Staff, Budgets and Programs including Funding and Evaluation.  Special emphasis on reaching the young people that other agencies and young people exclude.

For more than 20 years I have managed direct services for young people from some of the  most fractured yet resilient communities in the world.  I want to support young people to improve their lives through a "gift centered" approach to youth work: an approach where you see young people for what they do right, and what they have to offer to their community, rather than focusing on what they do wrong. I bring a global perspective to youth work and youth mentoring, acquired working with adolescents over the past two decades, across three continents. From para-military gangs in Belfast, to the young people of North Edinburgh, and on the streets of South Central Los Angeles and New Orleans, I've seen the need of young people for support, structure, nurturing, and above all a belief that they have something to offer this world.

I have more than 10 years experience in designing, implementing and evaluating innovative programs for young people.  Through sports, streetbased work, vocational training and other programs I give young people the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
