Global Chief Information Officer


Global Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President with responsibility for all information technology strategic planning, tactical execution, development, implementations, and systems operations across 88 major office locations in 24 countries around the world. 

  • Lead the successful global information systems migration from an outsourcing arrangement to the new, internally operated data center and internal global IT team, while concurrently upgrading and migrating the systems.  
  • Significantly improved performance while reducing the global IT expenses by 48%. 
  • Redesigned and optimized processes to improve performance and ensure SOX compliance. 
  • Transformed legacy IT organization into a unified, global, high-performing IT team.   
  • Designed and lead the new global Microsoft Dynamics SL7(Solomon) ERP system implementation.

  • Worked with the senior leadership of the client organizations to provide consulting, leadership, project management, assessments, design, tactical planning and strategic planning. Client list included prominent companies such as Cisco Systems, Wells Fargo, HD Vest, Fiserv, Avidyn Health, Sutter Health, Massachusetts General Hospital, Exempla Health Care System,  and Vanderbilt Medical Center.
  • Served as interim senior leadership for organizations, to assess, revamp, develop and produce a high-performing information services organization.
  • Served as the Managing Principal of Benesystems Technology and Chief Information Officer of the parent company, Benefit Partners.  Developed and lead their technology consulting and outsourcing company. Redesigned their business processes, streamlined operations, and significantly grew the technology practice revenue and net margins.  Clients include well-known companies such as Lennox International, Fluor, CompUSA, Oil States International, BAE Systems, Tenet Health System, Pilgrim’s Pride, Dallas County Community Colleges, and Omni Hotels.

Baylor Health Care System

Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Information Technology with expanded scope of responsibilities including the strategic technology direction, operations, research and development, the E-Strategy and Custom Application Development Division, management of the Information Services departments at each of the major business units, information technology, systems and processes throughout the health care system organization. 

  • Integrated the entity based information services operations into a single, cohesive, high-performing enterprise team. 
  • Excellent strategy, architecture and performance - Nationally recognized, and 4-time repeat winner of the “Most Wired” award, and winner of the “Innovator Award”. 
  • Ongoing successful project management of over 400+ concurrent, complex projects. 
  • Architected, implemented, and successfully operated an information technology infrastructure, which includes 116 sites, 30,000+ network nodes, and 561 hosts (servers, midrange, and IBM 9672).  
  • Designed, built, and operated a 30,000+ node multi-service network which is nationally recognized for its innovative design, performance and quality.  The network has operated at 99.999% availability for 5+ years, while accommodating a 40% annual growth rate. 
  • Successful implementations of VoIP, Vocera, RIM Blackberry, and innovative mobile communications solutions to reduce costs, enhance mobility, and improve business processes.   
  • Designed and implemented management and monitoring tools, metrics, and operations methodology.
  • Crafted and implemented the security architecture, and the related security policies and procedures.
  • Architected and implemented the innovative E-Strategy and self developed Internet applications, which are award winning and nationally recognized. 
  • Responsible for an annual Operating Budget of $46 million, an annual Capital Budget of $40 million, and a high-performing team of 320 people/FTEs.

Chief Technology Officer & Corporate Director, Information Technology, Baylor Health Care System

Corporate Director of Information Technology and Chief Technology Officer for the enterprise.  Direct strategic planning, operations and support for all technology departments and services, including networking, intranet/internet, telecommunications, servers/hosts, desktop technologies, enterprise messaging and groupware, computer center operations, programming and technical support. 

  • Directed the implementation of the new Nortel SL-100 phone switch, build out of a new communications center, over 600 miles of new cabling, and over 10,000 new phone and data outlets.
  • Architected and implemented the project planning and project management methodology
  • Directed the design, project planning and implementation of the new enterprise network. 
  • Developed the new world-class data center / operations command centers.
  • Implementation of Microsoft Exchange/Outlook throughout the 30,000+ node enterprise. 

Chief Information Officer, Baylor / Richardson Regional Medical Center

Direct operations, support, and strategic planning for all information systems and telecommunications services, including purchased, in-house systems, custom-developed systems, and outsourced systems. 

  • Directed the information technology development for the organization, which became the model for the entire enterprise (Baylor Health Care System).  Successful leadership and excellent results lead to the promotion as Chief Technology Officer for the enterprise (next position on my resume).
  • Successfully crafted and implemented the new Information Systems Strategy, and the new suite of information systems and applications, which resulted in reducing annual operating expenses by forty-two percent (42%), significant business process improvements, and improved customer satisfaction.
