Alongside pursuing an MBA I have taken up a part time job to keep me in touch with the industry. I have chosen a job that requires a comprehensive technical expertise at the same time gives me an opportunity to understand the retail sector. I have gained an understanding of the needs of end consumers of a widely segmented telecom market. It has also given me insight into managing retail operations.

In the full time MBA I learnt methods and techniques for developing organisational growth. As a part of my MBA curriculum I got the following working experience:

  • As a consultant for P&A partnership, an independent insolvency firm, helping them explore geographical business expansion strategies.
  • As a part of my dissertation I planned and devised strategies based on social media and new media as a marketing platform for Fancie, a budding chain of cupcake retail outlets.

Senior Consultant

As a senior consultant my role and responsibilities entailed:
  • Supporting sales team in pre-sales activities like making technical presentations, answering technical queries through e-mail, phone and on-site visits.
  • Creating proof of concepts, responding to request for proposal and request for information. Helping the client in implementation and configurations.
  • Working as a business analyst in gathering functional requirements, helping in knowledge transfer activities, documentation and being a liaison between onshore and offshore team.
  • Leading a team of consultants and interacting with the development team.
  • Supporting Java / J2EE bespoke and SOA based application in analysis, planning and implementation and overlooking end-to-end development life cycle and change management.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of critical projects ensuring quality solutions to the client.
  • Handling issues, diagnosing problem and implementing solutions.

As a senior consultant I have an experience of working in various domains such as Financial Services, Government and Pharmaceutical. I have worked as a business analyst for a bespoke insurance and claims application of ABN AMRO, performing knowledge transfer and requirements gathering activities, as a lead technical consultant in a team that supported and maintained a SOA application catering the Immigration Department of the Netherlands and as a technical consultant in a pharmaceutical research company, Organon. I was responsible for supporting the sales team as a pre-sales consultant and for all post-sales client technical communication while leading at technical team.

Senior Analyst


As a senior analyst my role and responsibilities consisted of:

  • Leading a module and training junior members of the team.
  • Playing a part of a technical analyst performing problem diagnosis and providing solutions.
  • Supporting a middleware application through implementing changes required by the business.
  • Overlooking deployment and integration processes and
  • Ensuring timely delivery of solutions.

As a part of a team of analysts I played a lead role in a pivotal assignment to migrate and merge two US-based broadband ordering systems and consolidate them to a larger order processing system, which handled DSL and fibre-optic connections. My role demanded good technical know how and sharp analytical skills with a clear understanding of the business requirements.

As a software engineer my role and responsibilities consisted of:

  • Research and Development. Participating in design level activities of product development.
  • Following extreme programming methodology for development, supporting product testing and quality control.

Joining the organisation as a trainee software engineer I was quickly promoted to a software engineer within a short duration of three months. As a software engineer I worked as a part of the research and development team that design and develop new software products. Even in the early stage of my career I actively contribute toward ideas that lead to conceptualisation of products. My contributions were valued, respected and awarded within the organisation.
