Dr. David Thurmond holds Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Animal Sciences from New Mexico State University. Upon graduation, he enrolled at Colorado State University to study at the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. While training to be a veterinarian, Dr. David Thurmond utilized his skills and knowledge of finance to proffer retirement investment strategies at Marketing and Management Corporation of America. Dr. David Thurmond earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 and relocated to Texas. In 1996, he established V.E.T. Management, Inc, a holding company for the Aladdin Animal Clinic, where he served as the Medical Director. After successfully initiating and growing the clinic, Dr. David Thurmond sold the enterprise to National PetCare Centers, Inc. and embarked on a new veterinary business venture. Now in his 11th year as the owner and President of SouthPaw Pet Services, Inc., Dr. David Thurmond acts as a relief veterinarian at facilities in the Houston, Texas, area. Through an expansion of SouthPaw Pet Services, Inc, Dr. David Thurmond is now introducing brands such as The WellPet Center and PetScriptsDirect.com, a new online pet pharmacy set to be launched in early 2011. He stays current with developments in the industry through his affiliation with the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. In August 2010, Dr. David Thurmond embarked on an entrepreneurial endeavor, this time in the financial services industry. He founded LegacyTree Financial Group in an effort to give clients the strategies and knowledge needed to make autonomous decisions about insurance and investing. Concentrating on college and retirement planning, Dr. David Thurmond believes in preserving capital and building wealth through private banking and whole life insurance. Currently, Dr. David Thurmond is in the process of developing a way for individuals to invest in medical practices through their private banking systems.
