Director of New Student Orientation
Elon University is seeking a dynamic and collaborative professional to provide leadership for an award winning New Student Orientation program. The Director of New Student Orientation will coordinate divisional efforts to aid in the transition to the university such as the Elon "roadmap," the parent and family newsletter and the division liaison to admissions. This position coordinates the Elon Challenge course and lodge. Candidates should possess creativity, stamina, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Master's degree required with one to three years related experience preferred. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint, Front Page, and PageMaker or Desktop Publishing preferred.
Program Coordinator, Office of Student Activities and Facilities
The Division of Student Affairs seeks a creative and dynamic student activities professional to join the Office of Student Activities and Facilities (OSAF) advising team. OSAF supports over 400 undergraduate organizations including Duke Student Government, the Duke University Union (student programming board), and the Undergraduate Publications Board through event advising and leadership development programming. The Program Coordinator (PC) will provide advising and event planning consultation to student organizations that do not already have dedicated OSAF support. She/he is responsible for contract negotiation and execution for student groups on behalf of the University. She/he is expected to execute independent judgment in their work with student organizations. The PC will be responsible for facilitating the education of students in the areas of program development, budget management and risk management. She/he will support the collaborative efforts between student groups with a performance-based focus. A new umbrella structure will encourage a cohesive presentation of the performing arts at Duke. The PC is an integral part of Duke's student organization programming process, responsible for identifying and collecting information about student events and disseminating that information to Duke Police, Deans on Call, Corporate Risk Management, Duke Financial Services and other University groups. Qualifications Master's degree required in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration or related field of study. Experience in student activities advising, student organization support, and program planning at an undergraduate and/or graduate level. Ability to understand and teach new technologies and trends. THIS POSITION IS A ONE-YEAR APPOINTMENT.
Assistant Director of Greek Life
The Assistant Director of Greek Life will assist the Director of Greek Life with the administrative and programmatic development of the Elon University Greek Life program in support of the mission of the institution and the philosophy of the Division of Student Life. This is a residential (live-in) position. Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related discipline required. Successful applicant should have residence life experience as well as strong interpersonal, organizational and mentoring skills.
