Summary

I believe using an integrated communication approach is key to effective campaign management and developing trustworthy, credible relationships. I have professional experience in media and community relations, working with tight budgets, and managing multiple project deadlines simultaneously. I believe strong writing skills and attention to grammar are essential. I believe social media is an incredible tool public relations clients can use to their advantage, where applicable. I hope to incorporate all of these professional values and beliefs into my work as a public relations practitioner.

Actively engaged in several social media platforms and networks, including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Maintains a WordPress blog.   2011: As a GA/Environmental Communications Coordinator for the University of Tennessee Media & Internal Relations department, I reviewed the "UTK Make Orange Green" and "UT Recycling" Facebook and Twitter accounts to determine ways to improve engagement with UT community.  I also created a year-long series of sustainability-focused Facebook and Twitter posts, posted weekly, for the UTK media relations team.   2009-2010: Created and actively managed a private, internal website for How Stuff Works series team at Jupiter Entertainment. Site included ability for team members to collaborate live on scheduling and project management spreadsheets. Also included links and tools for third party collaborators, blog updates (from field crews and in-office team), motivational elements and more. The site helped direct the team's workflow and responsibilities, so no deadlines or important details were missed.
