In May 2011, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations and Organizational Communication from Longwood University in Farmville, VA.  I'm a hardworking individual with persistence and patience to see a project through to the end.

Event Planning Expertise

Currently working on two events:   LCVA Biennial Gala Art Auction: The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts receives no state or federal funding.  The black-tie affair includes a silent auction, as well as food, beverages, and live music, to fund its educational programs which serve a 7,000 square mile area in Southside Virginia.  The last gala netted an atonishing $87,000 in February 2009.  A charity event created, funded, and completed by a team I am leading called MBRACE.  Our organization will attempt to create an event to raise money to send participants in local Challenger Baseball team to Virginia Beach in May.  Challenger Baseball League is a team for youth with disabilities that encourages them to be active with their peers, even despite the physical and mental obstacles they may face. 

Verbal Dexterity

Utilization of  both interpersonal and professional verbal skills.  Completed Public Speaking course as well as various speech-intensive courses, including Advanced Spanish 320.  Understanding of a variety of different speeches, from persuasive to commemorative.

Written proficiency

Ability to produce strong, thorough, and well-organized material that is both accessible as well as scholarly, whenever appropriate.  Achieved high marks on both word processed and handwritten manuscripts throughout educational career.  Possess a variety of different writing skills from academic papers, to creative writing, press releases, and other professional and non-professional types of writing.  Proficient in both Spanish and English.  See attached writing samples.
