Owen Tripp serves as Chief Operating Officer of Reputation.com, a Silicon Valley company he co-founded in 2006. An expert in security technologies, Mr. Tripp focuses on corporate development, helping to expand the firm’s business and product offerings. He also oversees sales, marketing, and product fulfillment of Reputation.com’s packaged online reputation management services. Owen Tripp developed the first iterations of the company’s industry-leading MyPrivacy and ReputationDefender products.Mr. Tripp earned recognition in 2011 when Reputation.com was named one of 25 Technology Pioneers by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum. The annual award highlights companies that offer technological innovations with the potential to significantly change the way that society and businesses operate. Mr. Tripp holds a position on the Advisory Board with the U.S.-based Future of Privacy Forum. In this capacity, he is one of a select group of leading business, academic, legal, and advocacy figures who advocate for more ethical data management practices in the industry. He additionally lectures on emerging security technologies and online privacy issues at a number of academic institutions, including the Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, and the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to establishing Reputation.com, Owen Tripp founded and managed the User Behavior Intelligence team (UBI) at eBay, Inc. The UBI group created a sophisticated e-commerce-focused data mining platform, modeling and analyzing consumer buying habits and demographics. Owen Tripp earned his Bachelor of Arts at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, majoring in Spanish Literature and graduating cum laude. At the onset of his career, he spent three years with Accenture, developing and managing international operations centers. Mr. Tripp notably organized a multi-shift center in Manila, Philippines, managing over 200 associates. He entered Stanford University’s MBA program in 2006, completing studies in entrepreneurship, venture capital, business, and product design two years later.
