About Owen Sinclair

Owen Sinclair embarked upon a highly diversified career in the financial services industry. Landing his first professional role as a Technical Analyst for the New York Life Insurance Company in New York City, Owen Sinclair handled billing, payments, and accounts receivable for a vast array of corporate health insurance clients.

Upon the formation of the Mutual Fund Department at the New York Life Insurance Company, Owen Sinclair moved into a new role as a Mutual Fund Analyst, in which he kept track of product sales and collaborated with marketing colleagues on future sales endeavors. Following two-plus years with the New York Life Insurance Company, Owen Sinclair became a Portfolio Administrator at Nikko Capital Management (now Nikko Asset Management Co. Ltd.). From 1987 through 1990, he trained his attention on various portfolio performance calculations, including dividends, bond yields, securities, exchange rates, currency trades, and futures.

In 1990, Owen Sinclair joined Chase Consulting Group, LLC as a Portfolio Performance Analyst, during which time he conducted research and evaluations on projects and investments for institutional clients. After one year in this role, Owen Sinclair sought further development of his skills and began a period as a Registered Representative for Prudential Financial, Inc. in Wantagh, New York.

Owen Sinclair left Prudential in 1993 to perform analytical consulting work and study for the Society of Actuaries (SOA) Actuarial Exam. Passing the examination in 1996, Owen Sinclair secured a role as Budget Analyst for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company’s Corporate Actuarial Department. From 1996 through 2001, Owen Sinclair proved instrumental in the assessment of expenses, the implementation of cost-saving measures, the research of data for policy rates, and various aspects of quality control.

Entering the Nassau County Office of Management and Budget as a Budget Examiner in May 2002, Owen Sinclair immediately demonstrated his acumen in this role and soon gained promotion to Deputy Budget Director. In December 2008, Owen Sinclair returned to independent financial consulting and currently works on both long-term and temporary projects for clients in and around the New York metropolitan area. A recent graduate of the M.B.A. program at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business (CUNY), Owen Sinclair resides in Oceanside, New York.
