Summary

Owen Tripp serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Reputation.com, which was recently chosen as one of Gartner, Inc.'s, Cool Vendors in Risk Management, Privacy and Compliance, 2011 and received recognition from World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer. Founded in 2006 by Owen Tripp and a business partner, the company provides sophisticated tools and services for people and businesses seeking to manage their online reputation. Originally an Executive Vice President for Reputation.com, Mr. Tripp became COO in 2008 and has managed multiple facets of the corporation’s business since its inception. His responsibilities include planning and product development for the company’s worldwide operations, revenue platforms, and sales. Under Owen Tripp’s guidance, Reputation.com has built alliances with search sites like Spokeo and PeopleSmart to remove client information from their sites. Reputation.com has also teamed up with the American Medical Association and AOL to protect member data. An honors graduate of Hartford Connecticut’s Trinity College, Owen Tripp regularly tweets and blogs on Internet reputation and privacy issues. He also is an Advisory Board Member for the Future of Privacy Forum. Mr. Tripp recommends that business professionals use LinkedIn as a base for establishing an online reputation. He also urges people to manage their online privacy and reputation proactively, not only by posting with care, but by monitoring what others may be posting about them. The biggest mistake, according to Owen Tripp, is when “people try to outwit or debate their detractors online.” People looking for Mr. Tripp’s insights on online privacy can follow him on Twitter at http://twitter.com/#!/owentripp. Before co-founding Reputation.com, Owen Tripp designed large scale operations centers for Accenture and worked with eBay’s User Behavior Intelligence team. In his free time, Mr. Tripp enjoys reading, wine collecting, and the enjoying the culinary arts.
