As a communications professional for more than 18 years, I have developed extensive experience as a Web Content Developer, Managing Editor and Newspaper Writer and Editor. My writing has appeared national and international publications including The Christian Science Monitor, The Washington Post, The Seattle Times, The San Jose Mercury News and The Philadelphia Inquirer. As well as B2B publications such as Colorado Springs Magazine, Hispanic Executive, Advantage Magazine and Profile. 

Currently, I'm a freelance writer and editor based in Chicago, though I work mostly overseas. 

In addition , I have 10 years experience in digital publishing, including designing and maintaining blogs, writing and editing blogs, designing and producing social media marketing campaigns, audio and video blogging, designing websites for better user experience and producing search engine optimized content and developing search engine marketing projects.

As a Web content manager for three global websites, I have worked closely with IT Departments and Web Information Architects to facilitate website development for my employer and/or clients. I have managed or coordinated the website content for three global organizations with a combined page view calculation of 9 million annually.

I bring nearly a decade of online marketing experience to help you navigate this web thingy and turn all those videos of twin talking babies and Facebook “Likes,” into cold, hard cash.

I  am particularly adept at customer communications which I managed for several international development organizations writing everything from thank you letters to direct sales and marketing asks. As you can see I have extensive experience in traditional journalism as well as online media and significant experience with managing writers and editors to produce publications.

Poize Magazine

Started as a freelance copy editor and was immediately asked to be Managing Editor for the start-up publication Poize Magazine, a print and online publication appealing to women of African descent. The magazine is launches October 1 in Africa.

  • In coordination with the Editor-in-Chief created the magazine's first editorial calendar as well as wrote editorial policy for freelancers, photographers and designers.
  • Copy edited the entire first edition of the magazine as well as proofread the magazine.
  • Managed the freelance writers and their schedules.

  • Pioneered, in conjunction with the Web Communications Director and Information Technology Director,  project to create a user-friendly website. Managed website communications, wrote training instructions for more than 500 web content provider and, along with the Director of Web and Interactive Department and IT, helped to create web content policies, procedures and processes for uploading and editing content.
