Australian Paper Maryvale Mill
Electrical Engineering Vacation Program:: Completed project of designing and implementing operator-based Distrusted Control System(DSC) supervisory interfaces from ABB Advant MasterView to System 800xA 5.1. Worked collaboratively with engineers, and operators and technician staff to understand and ensure compliance with industry and company standards for new system. Built and implemented new operator workstation and necessary environment(Supervisory system) to run new interfaces. Provided advice and maintenance support on new system. Save the company over $400,000 to develop, build and implement new system. Significant contributed to the DCS engineering team responsible for commissioning major DCS upgrades to integrate and provide a single system interface into all mill areas. Constructed new workstation for the major upgrade and connected operator workstations to company network intended for live monitoring and control by operators, process engineers and maintenance technicians. Assisted engineers and managers with vendor meetings such as ABB and instrumentation companies for company needs and requirements of automation equipment. Led technicians on design and implementation of DCS Test Bench project that can be utilised by contract engineers, technicians for testing, diagnosing, and correcting any hardware or software of the control system. Involved in automation, instrumentation and DSC engineering tasks from installing field-located process instrumentation and performing maintenance, to performing system roll ups, upgrades and connecting communication systems.
