Dubai Electricity & Water Authority - DEWA

Currently leading a team of 6 members through the daily challenges updates, support and continuous improvement in the modules of Materials Management, Warehouse Management (IS-Utilities) at DEWA. My responsibilities include planning and supervising the implementation of new changes in the existing systems as well as assisting the new projects and promoting integration with MM & WM modules.

 

Materials Management activities and achievements

  • Continous improvement of existing SAP solutions.
  • Deliver trainings and prepare relevant training documents for continous changes. 
  • Implementation of EHP4 Materials Management module.
  • Implementation of Organizational structure.
  • Design and Implementation of customized release strategy for DEWA.
  • Design and implementation of a customized price comparison for DEWA.
  • Integration of Materials Management with RMS (Records Management system) to save attachments and approvals.
  • Integration of Materials Management roles with GRC system
  • Lead the Integration of Materials Management module with SUP (Sybase Unwired Platform) to change the interface of SAP for higher management and allow approval and review of documents on iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Android devices.
  • Lead the MM and WM teams during the major upgrade from EHP6 to EHP8.
  • Lead the MM team during the recent VAT implementation. This change included testing and re-deploying all standard and customized enhancements across the MM specturm.

 

Recent Projects:

  • Tejari system - Functional lead for integrating Tejari system (used by SMEs and other government entities) with DEWA’s SRM system.
  • IPad Application for Approvals (SUP) - Functional lead for the iPad approval application via the SUP platform. The higher management now only uses this application to approve any MM/SRM related documents in the system.
  • Smart Application for DEWA – Functional lead for Smart government project which will integrate our SRM/MM processes with an iPad and iPhone application. This project was undertaken as per the initiative of Dubai Government.
  • Warehouse Management - Enhancement of Warehouse Management configuration and functionalities. Restructuring DEWAs existing bin system and mapping it with the SAP system.
  • Warehouse Inventory Bar-coding - Leading the on-going implementation of bar-coding solution for DEWA warehouse managed (WM) stores. A third-party is involved to carry out the development and the configuration of the equipment. My role is to carry out the relevant MM/WM configuration in the system as well as providing consultancy services to the management.
  • SAP UI Logging & Masking - Implemented the new UI Logging and UI Masking tool that helps log screen level data for various users across and organization. My role in this project was to short-list the right product for the job and to carry out the licensing along with the configuration for Quality and Production systems.
