Mr. Bruce MacPherson

Director of Education

Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board

799 - 16th Avenue

Hanover, Ontario N4N 3A1

Dear Mr. Macpherson,

With my quality education from Nipissing University and the Schulich School of Education, alongside with my work experience, I am confident in my ability and passion to become a positive addition to the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board as a high school Mathematics and Business Teacher.

As you will see in my enclosed resume, I have earned an honours Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a minor in business administration, as well as gained certification in Mathematics (7-12) and business administration and accounting (9-12). Being a versatile individual, I have had the opportunity to teach students who functioned below, at and above grade level. I have been very successful at accommodating diverse student needs by facilitating all styles of learners, offering individualized and extracurricular support and integrating effective materials.

I encourage learning by using a number of different manipulatives, hands-on activities, and various forms of technology. By incorporating class discussions, open-ended questions, and cooperative learning, I am able to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive class atmosphere. In addition, I want to bring my catholic faith into the classroom so that my students can obtain a quality education that teaches alongside the curriculum expectations.

Being a hard working well-rounded educator, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my extensive experience, collaborative nature, and innovative classroom skills would benefit your mathematics and business program. Thank you for your time and consideration. I  look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely yours,

Emily Azevedo
