I recently completed my Master's in Library Science at the University of North Texas and am actively seeking a job in a library. I am most interested in working for the government or an academic library. Prior to pursuing my Master's, I completed my Bachelor's in English literature at UNT with a minor in History.
While at UNT I've held a few different office positions and am currently working for the College of Information Advising Office as an Advisor. During my time as an undergraduate, I worked for the America Reads program, which employs after school tutors to mentor elementary age children. One of the program's main focuses improving literacy. In both of my positions I performed customer service tasks by answering phone calls, e-mails, and providing students with information.
In the last semester of my Master's coursework, I conducted an internship at UNT's Government Documents Department. I volunteered 120 hours assisting the librarians by helping to prepare for outreach events and organizing a variety of government materials.
