Native English-language communications writer and editor, Paris, France. Report, research, write and edit magazine articles, press releases, background papers, brochures, websites, newsletters, executive speeches, French-to-English translations for leading international corporations, communications agencies, law firms and educational institutions based in or near Paris.


Institutional Communications Manager


INSEAD is an international business school based in Fontainebleau with additional campuses in Singapore and Abu Dhabi, as well as research and executive education centres in Israel and New York. My responsibilities were to write, edit, and proofread various institutional communications including brochures, newsletters, websites, presentations and an electronic newsletter from the INSEAD Dean to more than 35,000 alumni worldwide. I also developed content for quarterly staff and faculty meetings and wrote an online internal newsletter for staff and faculty.


Marketing communications manager/copywriter


Dechert is an international law firm with 20 offices and more than 800 lawyers in the United States, Europe and Asia. My responsibilities were to manage English-language marketing communications across five European offices and supervise junior writers. I wrote brochures, pitches, practice descriptions, office descriptions, attorney biographies, press releases, as well as managed content on the Dechert website.

InterAngle International Communications Agency

InterAngle is an international communications agency based in Paris specialised in high-technology and finance communications. I wrote magazine articles, background papers, brochures, websites, newsletters and press releases for online/print and conducted video testimonials. As head writer I also supervised junior writers.


English-language teacher and freelance writer


After arriving in Paris from Costa Rica in 1995, I gave English-language courses to business professionals and journalists at various language schools in Paris, including Berlitz. I also started writing freelance articles for print and online publications which eventually led to employment as a communications writer at InterAngle. 


Travel writer

Costa Rica Today

Costa Rica Today is a weekly bilingual Spanish-English travel magazine specialised in national parks, museums, hotels and outdoor adventure in Costa Rica and neighbouring Central American countries. My responsibilities included writing and editing feature articles, as well as take colour photographs to accompany the articles. I also supervised and trained junior travel writers.


Daily newspaper reporter

Las Cruces Sun-News

I reported hard news and feature articles for the Las Cruces Sun-News, a 35,000 circulation daily newspaper in Southern New Mexico, and other newspapers in New Mexico and Texas. My responsibilities included reporting on US-Mexican border issues including illegal immigration, drug smuggling, agriculture, education and healthcare. I also took colour and black and white photography, and trained junior reporters.
