Clinical Informatics Assosciate 6/2010-1/2011

  • Part of the team developing and customizing the electronic medical record system the facility is implementing 
  • Used Microsoft Offce (2007 and 2010) Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio as well as Microsoft Publisher and Snag-It 
  • With Visio, I created timelines and documented workflows.
  • Used Publisher to produce flyers that were posted through-out the organization announcing meeting dates/times and that described what the team was doing.

Staff Nurse-Medical Stepdon Unit 11/2003-6/2010

  • 12 bed unit with a 3:1 patient nurse ratio 
  • Provided care to patients with mutli-system disease processes, long-term ventilator dependency, diabetes, COPD/CHF exacerbation, and psychiatric patients
  • Responsible for patient and family education concerning the treatmant plan, disease processes, medications and side effects, post-hospital care options
  • Charge Nurse on weekends and holidays, performing Daily Patient Care Rounds to ensure patient satisfaction with care
  • Preceptor for nurses that were new to the division/organization
  • Chairperson of the Nursing Education Council; new council in developed using the shared governance model
