Skills

Skills

Volunteer Recruitment

My entire professional career has been spent working with and through volunteers.  I enjoy working with individuals who have a passion, and finding a way for them to turn their passion into actions.   I have recruited, and am comfortable working with volunteers at every level from grassroots to the boardroom.

Fiscal Management

I have been involved in non-profit budget development and fiscal management for most of the past decade.  I am comfortable in a non-profit, accrual accounting system, and have finished every fiscal year with revenue exceeding expenses.

Fundraising

During most of my professional career I have been involved in fundraising activities.  I have been responsible for telefunds, mail campaigns, direct-ask campaigns, dinners/banquets, product sales, and others.   I have been successful in every campaign I have ever been involved in, and have always achieved my fundraising goals.

Event Organizing

I am adept at organizing an event or activity from beginning to end, and enjoy the challenges of working with various groups or individuals as part of the process.   I have been involved in everything from golf, fishing and shooting tournaments, to large athletic venues.

Computer Skills

My skills are advanced to excellent, and I am often sought as a "tech support" resource by others.  I have designed and implemented networks (home and business), and am very proficient in MS Office and all general computing.   I am proficient in most desktop applications, and am a "power user" of most network and web applications.

Public Speaking

I am very comfortable speaking in front of groups of any size.  I have  experience in all types of public speaking: motivational, process, informational and prepared (press) statements.   I have spoken in academic settings, conferences, workgroups, on camera and on radio.
