• Prospecting, qualifying and generating new sales leads. The ability to build lists of leads by
researching target accounts or utilizing solutions that provide contact data. Follow-up on leads
and conduct research to identify potential prospects. Build and cultivate prospect
relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order
to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
• Representing the sellers in negotiation with prospective buyers; advising clients and helping
buyers to decide what they want to buy; making sure that the pricing and other details are
agreed that is acceptable to both buyer and seller. Draw-up real estate contracts.
• Keeping up to date with trends in the local residential property market, as well as the
commercial market.
• Prepare documents such as representation contracts, purchase agreements, closing
statements, deeds and leases. Coordinate property closings, overseeing signing of documents
and disbursement of funds.
• Compare a property with similar properties that have recently sold in order to determine its
competitive market price. Generate lists of properties that are compatible with buyers’ needs
and financial resources. Display commercial, industrial, agricultural, and/or residential
properties to clients and explain their features. Answer clients’ questions regarding
construction work, financing, maintenance, repairs, and appraisals.
• Accompany buyers during visits to and inspections of property, advising them on the
suitability and value of the properties they are visiting. Advise sellers on how to make
properties more appealing to potential buyers. Advise clients on market conditions, prices,
mortgages, legal requirements and related matters. Review property listings, trade journals,
and relevant literature, and attend conventions, seminars, and staff and association meetings
in order to remain knowledgeable about real estate markets.
