Olivier Jouve is Vice President, Corporate Development, at SPSS Inc. His role consists in defining SPSS strategic directions, growth opportunities (through internal development, merger and acquisitions and/or tactical alliances) and go-to-market strategies. As a pioneer in the field of data and text mining for the last 20 years, he has accomplished much including inventing products such as LexiQuest Mine – one of the first industrial text-mining product based on natural language processing. This is the foundation of SPSS’ Text Mining technology for analyzing customer interactions. SPSS has sold, to date, this new technology (embedded in Text Mining for Clementine and SPSS Text Analysis for Surveys) to most of the top 500 Fortune companies. Previously, Jouve was the COO of LexiQuest (after having managed the European Operations), a worldwide leading Knowledge Management company that he sold to SPSS in 2002. Jouve is a successful serial entrepreneur. He founded Instoria (sold to LexiQuest in 2000), a start-up dedicated to knowledge management, and co-founded with Press Index (www.pressindex.fr) in 2000, Portalys; a start-up dedicated to automatic Web press monitoring (sold to PressIndex in 2007). He recently co-founded Voozici.com, a social networking site to review small and local businesses. Jouve was also Associate Director at www.webcarcenter.com, sold to AutoReflex in Sept 07. Prior to that (1989 – 1999) Jouve was VP of Engineering of C-S, a leading European system integrator (4000 employees) where he paticipated to the development of the Internet Services offering. He has also acted as a consultant for companies including France Telecom, AOL, French Army just to name a few. He has held faculty positions as a Professor in Computer Sciences (1995 –2000) at Leonardo Da Vinci University in Paris. Olivier Jouve had his works published internationally in the area of Internet, Analytical CRM, text mining, search engines and knowledge management.
