  • Managed Technical Service Group, responsible for retail item master file integrity (over 5000 sku's with weekly changes) including selection, timeliness, maintenance, electronic transmission and accuracy of all scan codes transmitted to customers.

  • Key account manager and category manager for Wal-Mart magazines, $350 million in sales, 2000+ stores, consistently exceeded industry performance and retailer expectations in sales and market share.
  • Developed first major magazine pallet promotion program in major nationwide retailers, with individual promotions producing as much as $1.5 million dollars in incremental sales.  Promotions involved working with major publishers to create exclusive magazine and book product for retailers with enhanced price points and added value for the consumer.
  • Developed, planned and implemented the first permanent cross merchandising magazine program in Wal-Mart, producing incremental revenue streams and additional impulse sales for both the publisher and retailer (side kicks and hot pockets - both still in place).
  • Coordinated the design and implementation of a comprehensive computer automated new store opening process for magazines that assured zero failures relative to Wal-Mart new stores opening correctly and on schedule.
  • Designed and implemented the first industry automated magazine title approval process at Walmart, which came to be know as "WALSTAR".  
  • Managed a seven member category management team that provided category management, magazine promotional development, checkout rack design and structured field level communication with Wal-Mart Regional Vice Presidents.
  • Responsible for fleet management, including purchasing and specifications, for a large diverse vehicle fleet.  Incremental savings on first fleet purchase of over $500K.
  • Served as property manager for more than 60 company locations including purchase, sale and lease transactions.  Successful at negotiating submarket leases for both long and short term facilities.

  • Developed merchandising procedures, a national call center, a field force reporting system and a product replenishment system using daily customer POS data.  Included twenty four hour order turnaround time and rapid response customer hot line. 
  • Negotiated one of the first major discount programs in the nation with UPS - eventually one of the largest customers in the Southeast for small package freight.  Program generated over $300k in freight savings the first year.
  • Designed and developed an in house warehouse management system that made the company's largest facility virtually inventory variance free as well as a cross dock system that measurably improved order turnaround efficiency.  Total savings estimated to be over $200k yearly.
  • Designed a reverse logistics system incorporating UPS data that tracked and monitored store level returns at box level.  Reduced in house labor and processing cost by over $150k per year
  • Implemented first testing program for potential new employees that resulted in an improvement in order efficiency and accuracy by over 12%.
