I currently work as the Sous Chef in the kitchen at the Methodist church in Laurel. Under my chef I have learned many aspects to teh trade of management. He has allowed me to help with ordering food, financing orders, and converting recipes. I feel this experience has taken me beyond what was offered by my training in culinary school.

As an employee at Murphy's Bistro I hosted, catered to customers, bused tables, stocked shelves and the freezer, washed dishes, and cleaned the restaurant at the end of the night. Unfortunately, Murphy's Bistro closed due to poor management.

At USM, I had to learn to be quick and precise. Time management was a necessity and knowing how to utilize a standardized recipe was imperative. I learned how to cater to a mass of people and expedite good communication with my fellow employees.
