Patient Accounts Representative/Receptionist

Hattiesburg Clinic, PA

While employed with Hattiesburg Clinic for the past 8 years I have had a number of responsibilities and have continued to pursue a higher learning of the way a medical facility functions from excellent customer service, to CPT and ICD-9 coding.  I initially started working at HBC as a receptionist and soon after was eager to seek a more demanding position.  I then moved to the Business Operations department where I have worked as a Customer Service Representative, a trainer for new employees as they enter the clinic, and now a Patient Accounts Representative.  My current responsibilities include being a patient advocate, billing and coding charges for patient services, inventory, taking and posting patient payments, and serving as a liaison between patients and insurance companies as a convenience to the patient.
