Professional Intern

Spotsylvania County Government

My duties for my internship consisted of conducting site visits for future development in the county. This included using county vehicles to travel to locations and bring pictures back to my superiors. I also consulted with the county administrator to see if the county's budget was easily readable to the citizen base when published over the internet. Lastly, I acted as a proctor when a management strategist came to the Board of Supervisors as well as facilitating Focus Groups for Spotsylvania.

The following summer, I reengineered Spotsylvania County's record management system for zoning permits, special use permits, conditional use permits, and rezonings dating back to 1974. I also performed site visits consisting of upholding county code enforcement ordinances. I attended a Virginia Association of Zoning Officials meeting and performed clerical office tasks such as interacting with citizens.
