Head of Wholesale

I initially joined Three leading the financial appraisal of 3G price control in the UK, recommending best outcomes under various laws and actionable go to market retail and wholesale strategies. I then operationalised these recommendations and principles to drive incremental margin contribution through the prepay and postpay tariff portfolios to maximise service margins. My commercial responsibilities included bringing 8 new MVNO’s to market from startup. I developed pricing and capacity rules for mobile broadband, voice, sms and gprs from 1st principles and forced retail and wholesale positions where MR = MC for bundled versus usage propositions. Execution was achieved through the design of bespoke mediated systems. Under ‘the managed P&L’ principle, I led products and services finance for both legacy communication services and new internet products across the lines of business and prioritised these on incremental margin. This included a fully interlocked and actualised demand supply traffic model sensitive to on-net, off-net parameters and traffic direction. Activity based costing principles were also implemented through the design and maintenance of standard cost cards in planning and reporting. Day to day responsibilities included billing operations for the interconnect and roaming settlement functions c. £1bn working capital, systems, upgrades, new technical product developments and vendor relationship management for network services, billing applications and the roaming data and financial clearing house. I built a team from being sole operator to 17 FTE developing roles and responsibilities for 5 managers. Key o Wholesale commercial development - ICT product portfolio o Regulatory finance policy, strategy and campaigns - mtr spectrum skype o MVNO, interconnect and roaming operations - design develop operate forensics o Performance reporting & pricing - on-net/ off-net roaming and network migrations
