Production Assistant

RIVR Media

As a production assistant, I assist the supervising producer and field producers in all aspects of production-- from pre-production planning to assisting during the shoots to post production and final deliverables. I work specifically for HGTV's "Run My Makeover" and DIY Network's "Run My Renovation." I wrangle talent, communicate with homeowners, assist in casting, take still photos during and after the shoots, orchestrate catering and travel and maintain relationships with donating product representatives. I go with the cameramen for the before and after shoots and tell them what shots we need. I also work alongside the designer to brainstorm about spaces in the planning stage and then assist her in the actual decorating during the shoots.

Administrative Assistant (Temporary)

Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church

While the regular administrative assistant was on medical leave, I filled in taking over all of the administrative work for the Community Life ministry. I organized New Members and Sunday School classes and gatherings, created brochures and flyers for the church, helped design the church's new web site (that hasn't launched yet), organized the membership directory photo shoots, took and edited the photos as well as corresponded with members who had questions.

Aug 2007 - Dec 2009

News Editor

Campus Carrier

I worked at Berry's student newspaper, The Campus Carrier, from 2007 - 2009. I filled various positions throughout my time there: everything from a staff writer, assistant editor for the arts & entertainment and features sections, and editor of the opinions and news sections. I enjoyed learning new parts of the paper, so when a spot opened up from a graduating senior, I jumped on the opportunity to alleviate stress from the staff as well as learn the new section and writing techniques.

May 2009 - Jul 2009

Intern

Fox News Channel

I was an intern in Fox's LA bureau. I pitched stories each morning in the budget meetings, helped with stand up interviews with the satellite truck, helped cover Michael Jackson's death and memorial service, conducted red carpet interviews at premiers and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I also assisted producers and correspondents research and finalize their story packages.

May 2008 - May 2009

Editor-In-Chief

Cabin Log

I managed a staff of twenty students as the Editor-in-Cheif of our college yearbook. I oversaw the content, design and photography of the 240 page book. I corresponded with the publisher, the adviser and the staff to make sure that we produced the best product possible.
