Summary

Hello; and thank you for your consideration. Below, you will find an eclectic mix of work experiences & skills that I have obtained throughout the years. I describe myself as bright & eloquent; I love to learn, and can excel at any task I am given (with proper training & appropriate guidance for said task - or not!). I am a traveler, a singer, an artist, and a passionate writer & speaker. Allow me to introduce myself, and thank you for considering me as a part of your team.

Creative & Clerical: 10 solid years of customer service training & direct experience, as well as a skilled typist (approximately 80 wpm). I am familiar with different operating systems, and have experience with customized data entry platforms, and both Microsoft & Apple products/programs, alike (word processors, spreadsheets, etc).


Fine Arts: Skilled in photography & digital media (graphic design/advertising & promotional work), wax sculptures & candle-making by hand, glassblowing assistance, costume design/styling/repairs/construction.


Child Care: I have worked with children in some facet for over 15 years; from infants to young adults, and very much enjoy doing so. I have a strong knowledge and understanding of high-risk individuals, such as children/individuals in poverty, homeless persons, victims of domestic/emotional/physical/mental/sexual abuse, and have direct personal experience in some of these areas, as well, which has made me a successful advocate for those who feel misunderstood or alone in their life challenges.


Equine: Over the last few years, I have learned basic to intermediate knowledge of horse care, and have spent months at a time riding & working with them/around them, and grooming them (and their living spaces) on a daily basis.


Construction/Tools/Equipment: I can perform basic to intermediate construction tasks, and have several years of experience with hand-held tools/power tools, ladders, and can safely use small tractors, mowers, golf carts & other vehicles with ease. Many years of renovation/restoration experience as well.


Music: Classically trained vocalist & musician, with over 20 years of performance experience in many fields and genres. Winner of 1st Place at the OCMEA Scholarship Competition in NY, in 2007 as a vocalist. Was a member of vocal classes & audition-based choirs at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. Trained in Opera, Contemporary, Theater, & more. Studied Vocal Skills & Performance with Veronica Shaver, and David Pittman-Jennings.

"Renaissance Woman"

National Circuits of Renaissance & Medieval Festivals

Working as an artist, vendor, performer and laborer, at renaissance & medieval faires/festivals around the country (New York, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Florida, and Texas), since I was 17 years old, with the majority of my traveling done in the last 4 years. Companies include "Moresca" Clothing & Costume (sales & high-end customer service/styling), Haller Glass (apprentice/assistant in glassblowing), and more. Substitute Teaching Assistant/Administrative/Clerical Support

Oswego County BOCES/CTE/CiTi

Part time position. Substitute for instructors and other staff at a technical/vocational & exceptional needs school. Most of the students are considered "at-risk" here. Many have behavioral or mental disabilities, and must be monitored closely to keep a safe atmosphere. Responsible for  clerical duties as well, such as taking calls, entering grading hours, handling student files, and organization of office areas.

Secondary part-time position. Responsible for the "omelette station" for Sunday brunches (cooking/serving between 30-60 p/h), as well as food prep./cooking/plating for formal events (catering for weddings, or parties between 30-400 people in a night, depending on the event).

Youth Center Supervisor & Welcome Center Staff

Oswego YMCA

Full time position. Responsibilities included overseeing youth center activities on a daily basis, including (but not limited to): Organizing events, playing or overseeing sports/games, direct supervision and sometimes training of other employees in the center, maintaining a clean and safe environment for the kids (making lists for maintenance crew, etc.), and overall care for the program, it's members, and the facility. I am certified as a mandated reporter, and also have experience working with special needs children and young adults/seniors.

Maintenance Staff

Oswego YMCA

Part time secondary position. Responsible for the general maintenance of about 40,000 sq.ft. (the Oswego YMCA and the Oswego Armory). Snow & ice removal/management, cleaning of all bathrooms, floors, dusting, painting, light fixtures, basic (dedicated line) wiring repair when needed, resolving simple plumbing issues, and keeping up on work orders/incident reports on the property. Also responsible for opening and closing the buildings on a regular basis; depending on my shifts.

Full time position. Responsible for taking calls and messages at the front desk, as well as receiving guests for meetings in an orderly fashion. Also responsible for taking paperwork for leasing/buying properties/homes, as well as filing, faxing, mailing, and other errands as needed. Administrative and technological assistant to real estate agents within the office and company around NYS, and performed a number of graphic design templates for fliers showcasing homes in & around the Fingerlakes region.

Leadership Counselor

Camp Waubanong Summer Camp

Full time, live-in position. Rustic summer camp on a mountaintop in the wilderness of Vermont. I was a leadership counselor for boys & girls ages 8-15 (3-walled cabins, bug nets, and bears; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 9 weeks).

My responsibility was to teach the campers (and the younger counselors-in-training) about wilderness survival tactics, all-weather shelter & fire building techniques, lessons on identifying native plants & animals, and "how to lead, but know when to follow". Other tasks included planning outings for the leadership group (such as tent camping at State Parks, field trips to town for mini golf or ice cream, etc.).

Also responsible for the girl's cabins (between 5-10 children at a time) getting up and ready in the mornings, as well as ALL the children's whereabouts throughout the day, and getting the girls settled at night.

Full time position. Started in the gear outfitter shop ("Killington Outfitters") as a retail associate, setting up displays and selling ski apparel and equipment. I later applied for a position as Reservations Agent, and was moved into the office full time. I was responsible for full knowledge of the mountain, resort, hotel, rooms & rates, ski & snowboard lesson information, etc. Helped plan detailed trips for families coming to stay with us from around the country & the world (France, Canada, Germany, etc.)...booked their hotel rooms, planned events for them throughout their stay, and made dinner and ski lesson reservations as well. Accurate data entry and excellent customer service was our highest priority. Performed general/clerical office duties as well.

Was responsible for keeping highly confidential client information private (Compliant with HIPAA), typing out hand-written client evaluations, and filing them accurately as well. Making appointments, taking calls & payments, both in person and over the phone, as well as keeping an orderly front office at all times.

Part time position. Worked as the assistant in the Drama Department until the end of October, and was then switched to a position in the Financial Aid Office as needed. Was responsible for paperwork filing, preparing and sending out mail, errands around campus (and sometimes off-campus), typing letters, making phone calls, and other general office/clerical duties.

Over 10 years of general photographic experience. Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign & Photoshop, as well as Lightroom. Nikon Cameras & Equipment, and well-versed in film process photography. Have been the primary photographer for several weddings, as well as doing promotional work for several companies, and private work for models and other individuals.
