Summary

More than 15 years of hands-on experience of working with NGOs, non profits, semi government and government organizations in promoting ideas and programs for youth development, teacher education, capacity building, monitoring follow-up and support, and community participation.

Developing and conducting Training programs for a diverse set of audience including public and private school teachers, librarians, government supervisors, NGO representatives, school managers and youth.

Curriculum and material development   media literacy, parental engagement, soft skills, teaching with ICTs, sports education, community service projects planning, career planning etc.

Conceptualizing, creating, implementing, monitoring and strengthening programs for teacher education, ICTs and library integration into learning, parental engagement and whole school improvement. 

Some of my significant contributions include:

Conceptualized and Implemented CONNECT - A peer coaching, mentoring and learning initiative for Youth.
Conceptualized TECHBAITHAK- Smartphone Application Development for Creative Expression and Empowerment.
Developed space plan of upcoming Habib University Campus Library
Pioneered Learning Technology Program at Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P)
Worked in collaboration with Phillips Academy, Boston- Massachusetts, United States in creating Library Reform Program for Aga Khan Schools, Karachi
Trained and facilitated 1000 teachers and 200 librarians in technology and library integration
Trained Educators from  Syria on using ICT in Education
Received acknowledgment from INTEL Teach to the Future Program
Trained 350 master trainers from all parts of Sindh under BB Shaheed Youth Development Program
Conducted teachers' professional development workshops and seminars at Aga Khan University, Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED), Society of Pakistan English Language Teachers (SPELT), Teachers Resource Centre (TRC), Educational Resource Development Centre (ERDC), Notra Dame Institute of Education, Karachi
Designed and implemented Parental Engagement Program for Community Schools in Karachi.
Designed and Coordinated Government School supervisors to activate and train Parents Teachers Association(PTA) in 1860 schools of Sindh, Pakistan.
Built capacities of School Management Committees (SMCs) of Community Based Schools, Karachi in strategic planning, visioning, project management etc.
Developed and implemented Learning Through Media program for Early Childhood and Primary Schools using Urdu Adaptation of Sesame Street.

  • Exploring, Understanding and disseminating best practices in Library and Learning Technology Integration at Schools, High Schools and Higher Educational Levels. 
  • Developing ideas and possibilities for integrating library and technology related learning programs.
  • Training Youth for Active Citizenship, Leadership and Sports
  • Researching and developing a curriculum module on Sports for Mental Skills Development.

Deputed as a Project Director at Institute for Advancing Careers and Talents(iACT), a public private partnership project between City District Government Karachi and Habib University Foundation (H.U.F.)

  • Developing the overall strategic plan for the not for profit vocational career / technical institute
  • Ensuring the development and implementation of vocational and service industry courses for youth.
  • Formulating partnerships and linkages with service sector companies for course development, internships and job placements

Currently Deputed as Project Manager for Youth Empowering Spaces (YES) since September 2011. The Project is being implemented at Karachi, Jamshoro and Matiari (Sindh)
