Entrepreneur and founder of several multimillion-dollar ventures, Nikolaos Spiridellis acts as the CEO of CONTACT-911 and VOISYS Systems Corporations. An expert in Information Technologies, Mr. Spiridellis founded VOISYS in 1988 to process mortgage and car loans by phone. One of the first "loan-by-phone" companies, the venture grew out of Mr. Spiridellis' work with interactive voice response systems developed for use with medical record systems. The system is based on voice analysis and customer responses to preset interview questions. Since its founding, VOISYS has answered over two million calls and processed loans in Europe and the United States. Nikolaos Spiridellis incorporated VOISYS in 1994; the company merged into the shell company CIQ in 1999 and was the one of the first to offer car loans via the Internet. Designed as an emergency communication system for families and businesses, CONTACT-911 was inspired by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. The disaster separated thousands of Florida residents from their families and left them with no quick way of getting in touch with missing family members. Sensitive to the additional burden that this separation imposed on families, Nikolaos Spiridellis offered Florida officials the use of his New York communication facilities so families could message each other using their telephone numbers as their identifiers. In 2003, Mr. Spiridellis founded CONTACT-911, which sends telephone messages through long-distance rather than local telephone systems. Users can access their entire contact list with a single phone call or email. In addition to his efforts with VOISYS and CONTACT-911, Nikolaos Spiridellis is a member of Charitable Endeavors, LLC, company that uses long-term life insurance programs as a means of supporting nonprofit, tax-exempt charities. Beneficiaries include hospitals, senior living facilities, and children's funds. Nikolaos Spiridellis supports a variety of charities, including the Wounded Warrior Project, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and the Kids Charity of Tampa Bay.
