I work at the Italian Farmhouse during the academic school year; September-May. I am a hostess, which includes greeting guests when they walk in the door, seating them in the correct rotation for the servers, serving water, helping serve food, and maintain a clean environment for all guests.
I worked with children ages eight months to twelve years old. I helped set up classrooms and feed the children snacks and lunch. I worked with the children outside, and assisted the teachers in whatever they needed.
I took part in a vocational program; Early Childhood Studies, where I did three internships at different elementary schools (each were three weeks long), worked at the daycare at the highschool, and was also in the classroom learning how to interact and teach children ages four to fifteen.
Patricia was my manager at Corner View Restaurant from 2003-2006. She trained me in how to do my job, and I have learned a lot from her.
Ellen is my manager when I work at the Italian Farmhouse throughout the school year. I work well with her, and she is there almost every shift I work. We have gotten to know each other well, and we seem to enjoy eachother's help in the work environment.
I have known Ellen for ten years; we have gotten to know eachother very well.
From growing up in the restaurant business, I have become very fast paced and can multi task well. I am good with numbers, and have learned to care for people's needs well. I understand the customer always comes first, and have taken interest in how to please customers to the best of my ability.
I am always very motivated to meet and work with new people, as I've noticed this is how I learn best. Watching others and experiencing different environments helps me learn, and I'm eager to do that.
