The opportunity to teach and inspire students is an exciting prospect that I feel qualified for and fully able to undertake.  I am seeking to apply for a position at the elementary school level for the 2010-2011 school year as primary years teacher and summer school teaching opportunities.  I have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-6 and a Reading endorsement.  I have a passion for teaching the primary grades and completed 570 hours in a First Grade classroom with sole responsibility for my student teaching experience.  This internship allowed me to teach for 16 consecutive weeks where I gained experience in curriculum development through an engaging teaching style, therefore inspiring my diverse students to meet and exceed standards in all content areas to become life-long learners.  I would love to teach abroad because understanding different cultures and expanding my own horizon gives me such a strong sense of accomplishment.  My international experience, as noted in my curriculum vitae, has left lasting impressions on my outlook on life and has influenced my passion for teaching abroad.

I love using technology in the classroom and like to take innovative approaches to learning along with the traditional hands on methods.  I am very proficient with computers and can catch on to learning new technology very easily! I would like to thank my AWESOME older brother for always teaching me about new gadgets :)  I have used document cameras, smart boards, overhead projectors, slide shows, made videos, etc. in the classroom or integrated with lessons.  One of my goals is that I want to continue learning about new technology by being trained by faculty and attending workshops.
I have played many sports over the years such as:  Soccer, Gymnastics, Field Hockey, Sideline Cheerleading (Football and Basketball), and Competitive Cheerleading (High School team and All-Star).  I have also taught gymnastics at camps during the summer and at a gymnastics gym in Richmond, Virginia.  Another sport that I have taught is Cheerleading during a summer camp through my high school that I attended.
Started taking Spanish language courses in Middle School through High School ending up in advanced level Spanish my Senior year of High school.  Since I recently studied and learned basic Italian, I can understand spanish more than the basic conversation of it that I have!
Basic conversational Italian at the beginner level, I would love to be fluent one day!
