As a motivated, determined and ambitious second year student, I have taken every opportunity to put my acquired and developed skills into practice. The diversity of the media industry is greatly reflected in the units I have studied throughout my first and second years. These have ranged from: Narrative structures, Media Journalism and Society, Writing for the media, Media and Marketing, Communication skills and many more. From learning about non-verbal communication to analysing and creating review videos about the marketing approach taken by specific companies in their adverts, I have managed to gain an insight into my preferred line of work. As I already possess these skills, another requirement which will act as a step ladder in helping me reach my desire to work in the Communications & Media field is the physical industrial experience, which is what I aim to gain from your company.

Volunteer in Nigeria

As a volunteer I encourage and motivate young people to be more involved in governance by creating youth parliaments and teaching them 21st century skills. I did this by facilitating sessions where I taught them effective ways to develop communication and public speaking skills. During this experience, I was faced with numerous new challenges which tested my ability to deal with unfamiliar situations, however I managed to overcome them.
