Personal Statement

I am a driven and enthusiastic individual, possessing both creative and analytical skills. Always looking for new challenges and opportunities, I have recently completed a semester abroad in China which taught me vital skills regarding business in Asia. My passion for sales and marketing has led me to take the Strategy pathway within my Management degree. I think this presents me as a strong candidate for a career in Sales Marketing.

Work History

September 2016

Sales Intern
  • As a sales intern I was required to assist the sales team with sourcing and contacting leads, attending client meetings and help create sales strategies, as well as writing the follow-up notes and making sure the client was happy.
  • Having been at the firm during their acquisition by a much larger American company I was able to witness the direct impacts of the changes taking place and the affect it had on the day-to-day running of the firm.

  • The position helped me expand my knowledge about the technology industry and how fast paced it is, as well as teaching me vital time management and client relationship skills.

  • I managed all aspects of the promotion, which required me to assign all team members to the most appropriate positions, whilst ensuring that they were suitably informed about their roles and responsibilities at all times.
  • This position enabled me to apply and develop my organisational skills and commercial acumen.

  • The role required me to work within a team, in various situations whereby I had to promote the brand I was representing.
  • I engaged with the public to encourage them to sample each product, with brands ranging from Cadbury’s chocolate to Sony mobile phones. Ultimately, the key objective was to increase sales of each product.
  • Through my detailed understanding of each package offered, I am able to put into practice the strategic commercial decision-making skills that I am currently learning as part of my degree.
  • Furthermore, by practicing my persuasion and relationship-building, I have developed very strong stakeholder management skills, particularly in a business context.
