Finance Director

Finance Director of a Professional Services start up from. Appointed by the UK Finance Operations Director to re-engineer the project accounting and asset management process UK. The organisational scope covered 14, 000 telecoms cell sites nationally, and required careful stakeholder management of Finance, and Technology Teams. Project scope included asset values of $8. 0bn, with over 3, 000 Oracle users impacted by the changes. Sole responsibility for the production of half year and year-end statutory accounts including disclosure notes for a National Retail Logistics Company. Managed a team of 20 to produce statutory accounts, and revenue and margin reporting for 1, 500 pubs for Whitbread Plc. T/O $1. 1bn. Implemented exception reporting to identify food and liquor margin variations. Worked with regional executives to reduce reporting cycles by 50%. Worked with the Kuehne and Nagel Executive Management Team to design and build an integrated Opex and Capex model. The model allowed the management team to flex non-financial variables(volumes, headcount, labour productivity, asset efficiency) to identify capacity constraints and optimise labour mix. This contributed to a 20% increase in labour efficiency. Worked with the Ernst and Young London Tax team on commissionaire taxstructures and transfer pricing for an international manufacturer. Engaged by the CFO of a FTSE 250 property company to design their 3-year management information strategy. Worked with the main and operational Board Members to prioritise their reporting requirements as part of the selection of a new accounting, performance management and planning tool. Managed the review of accounting policy for a national accounting team of over 400 qualified accounting staff.
