Camp Program Director

Lutherwood Camp and Retreat Center

  • Director of all programs at Lutherwood including: onsite camp, Outdoor Adventure Program, Lummi Servant Experiences, Day Camps, international trips, outdoor education, challenge course, and year round retreats.

International Trip Coordination
I have had extensive travel and cultural experiences.  I have traveled to over 30 countries with a desire to see the local culture and experience the people in those locations.     I have started doing experiential trips to the Dominican Republic for the past 5 years and have grown that program into a stable community exchange program.  Taking groups of 12-30 participants, we have worked hard to build up a struggling community and give life to it.     Tasks accomplished in the past 5 years: 1. Remodeling an abandoned building to make it into a community center 2. Gathering donations and books to build a completely Spanish library in the community center. 3. Helping to convert one side of the community center into a high school as there was not one in the community previously. Now the kids of that community can go to school in their own town and has created jobs and sustainability in that community. 4. Creating an exchange program to bring Dominicans, who would never have had the opportunity to do so, to the USA to work for a summer or come for a summer camp experience. 5. Working with an orphanage for kids living with HIV/AIDS and helping to develop relationships with those kids who are forgotten.    
Lifeguard/Waterfront Director
I have been a lifeguard for over 10 years and have high quality of training in waterfront management and safety. 
Food Service
I am capable of doing all aspects of meal planning, budgeting, buying, serving, and clean up.  I have experience cooking for large groups as well as small groups.  
Challenge Course Facilitator
As a facilitator, my job is to lead participants through a series of physical challenges that require communicating with their team to come up with a plan, listen to one another’s ideas, persevere as they try different methods and techniques, and encourage and celebrate with each other once they have accomplished their goal.    High and low challenge course trained.
