As Palliative Care Medical Director at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California, Dr. Nicholas Jauregui seeks to address the needs of terminally ill patients by delivering comprehensive care that reduces their symptom burdens and speaks to their physical and emotional needs. At Huntington, Dr. Jauregui also holds the posts of Vice President of the Ethics Committee and Chairman of the Family Medicine Section. Dr. Nicholas Jauregui holds numerous board certifications in hospice and palliative medicine and family medicine; he serves as Team Physician at Vitas hospice. He has also performed in an executive capacity at The Elizabeth Hospice, Inc., managing four hospice care specialists and meeting a number of important goals in the center’s level of care.

Before arriving at Huntington, Dr. Nicholas Jauregui worked as Medical Director at the Pregnancy and Family Care Centers in San Diego and served as Clinic Site Director for the Escondido Community Health Center in Escondido, California. In Ventura, California, Dr. Jauregui was employed as a family medicine physician at the Ventura Urgent Care & Family Practice Center. He also practiced family medicine with Escondido’s Graybill Medical Group. Dr. Nicholas Jauregui’s devotion to his craft has also meant keeping his skills and knowledge up to date with continuing education in a number of healthcare business disciplines.

Dr. Jauregui is aware of the healthcare challenges faced by the poor and has spent many hours of his time at clinics such as Escondido Community Health Center and Neighborhood Healthcare’s primary care clinic. He is an alumnus of the University of California, San Diego, with undergraduate work in biology, music, and psychology. With his wife, Dr. Nicholas Jauregui makes the most of his Orange County environment; they are triathletes, pushing themselves by running, swimming, and biking. Dr. Jauregui is devoted to his family and loves to spend time traveling, kayaking, and generally improving the quality of life of those around him in whatever way he can.
