Mobile Electronics Certified Profesional

MECP stands for "Mobile Electronics Certified Professional." Prior to 1999, the program was referred to as the "Mobile Electronics Certification Program." MECP is a certification program that was developed in 1991, by several 12-volt industry volunteers, who wanted to bring a higher level of professionalism to mobile electronics installation technician career through a national certification program. MECP is owned and managed by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Since its beginning, MECP has certified over 20,000 industry professionals.
