Selected applicant for the Student Career Experience Program within the Public and Indian Housing (PIH) budget office. 

  • Work with the Administration office to review, analyze, summarize, and report fund availability for six departmental budget divisions:  Recruitment, Payroll, Awards, Lump Sum Payments, Overtime, and Details
  • Evaluate data that reflects activity of 1500 employees from 16 divisional nationwide programs
  • Report budget statistics to the Assistant Secretary of PIH and all Program Directors on a monthly basis; provide options to Program Directors to help balance budgets for remaining budget period
  • Prepare for budget adjustments reflecting changes in employee status 

Key Contributions

  • Identified and corrected a $1 million reporting error based on inconsistency with new hire data input
  • Reduced a typical two-day payroll reporting task to three hours by creating an Excel format that filtered specific data codes to interface with the existing system
  • Created Excel reports that streamlined and linked payroll overtime reporting
  • Facilitated the cleanup of divisional Details and Interagency Personnel Agreements
  • Assisted in the process of clearing up the divisions over-obligation balance for fiscal year 2011
