Journalist

The Claflin University Panther

The Panther is the newspaper for Claflin University, and is the platform that the school uses to get messages out to the students.

While on the newspaper staff, I reported on a vast array of subjects, from University news to local news, and national headlines.  There were many controversial events, etcetera, that I brought to the light and helped tell the story, in a manner that uplifted the university.

Intern

Glory Communications

I learned how to work various audio recording and editing equipment. While at the radio station, I was a little reticent to actually allow my voice to broadcast over the airways, because my voice has been a little shaky, per my car accident, but I eventually got over that trepidation, and began to let the recordings broadcast, over the airways.

I, also, produced superb notes and transcripts that made recording easy.

I also filed and wrote the commercials that were to air during the broadcasts.

Aug 2009 - May 2010

Claflin University Mass Communications Department

Assisted with the production of Claflin’s ‘Health Factor’ program. Manned the audio/ visual-board, and ran other errands for the instructor.

Worked the videography at times, as well, while still manning the audio/ video board.
