Natalie Dent interned for the Austin Toros during the summer of 2008 as a Marketing and Operations Intern. The Austin Toros will enter their fifth season in the NBA Development League and are owned and operated by Spurs Sports and Entertainment. With a small staff, employees wear many different hats and have various tasks and responsibilities; so interns are given the opportunity to see many different aspects of the sports industry.Natalie’s responsibilities as a Marketing and Operations Intern included: shadowing account executives in the sales process, attending meetings with account reps, promoting and attending community events, assisting in marketing projects, and researching marketing ideas such as promotional nights and giveaways.

I served as Natalie’s direct supervisor and recommend her for an entry level position. The characteristic that sticks out to me most about Natalie was her great attitude.Natalie is very personable and outgoing. She always had an upbeat outlook that was infectious to the people around her.Natalie was also out in the community quite often at various events and festivals talking to people and spreading the word about the Toros.Natalie was also very detail-oriented.She did a great job on her project and presentation of researching ten promotional nights, on-court contests, and promotional items. The work she turned in was very professional and paid attention to detail. It is with great pleasure that I recommend Natalie Dent for a position with your company.

To begin my career with a company that wants enthusiasm, hard work and committement, and to further my knowledge of public relations and marketing, gaining more life skills in the process.  And to of course be successful in everything I do.
