During my time there I was given and took the opportunity to incentivise game reviews from credible VG reviewers; establish giveaway contests through independent 3rd party media sites; establish publicity activities, such as interviews with media sites; participate in grassroots marketing; write press releases; correspond with stakeholders in a professional manner; and perform market research.

Marketing and PR Coordinator for Market Day Southlake event

Worked alongside a team of other Event Management students to plan and implement the first ever Market Day Southlake hosted by Avondale College of Higher Education. Process included:  Establishing event objectives, identifying key stakeholders and target audience, developing an event concept, establishing an appropriate event date, creating a working timeline and implementation plan, performing a risk analysis, and executing set activities in an appropriate and timely manner.

Marketing and PR specific tasks: Writing a marketing plan, developing a database of relevant contacts, writing various collateral pieces, working with graphic designers, overseeing printing of posters and other material, detailing an overview for the event, utilising social media channels, writing and distributing media/press releases, updating online community reference points, organising the distribution of posters and other promotional pieces, and contacting and maintaining relationships with significant media and advertising outlets.

Through this experience I was able to contribute in a professional and timely manner to my team's outputs while following strict timelines and deadlines. Also, with extensive and frequent communication with my team I was able to observe and understand their individual roles and activities as Logistics, Program and Sponsorship Coordinators for the event.

Central Coast Careers Pathways Expo Student Worker

Avondale College of Higher Education

Worked as an all-rounder worker during the 2012 Central Coast Careers Pathways Expo, held on Avondale College Macquarie College campus (NSW), under the direction of the College's marketing department. During this one-day event I helped both the 300 exhibitors and 3000+ attendants in a variety of ways.

Responsibilities included housekeeping, helping exhibitors unpack and set up equipment, distribution of complementary lunch to exhibitors and student workers, as wells as guiding and assisting attendance with expo directions and general inquiries.

From this experience I have gained knowledge and skills in the management and marketing involved in large scale events, shows and expos such as this one.
