Beaumont Independent School District

Performs a wide range of school public relations functions including but not limited to writing, editing, publication design, information requests and event planning.

  • Serves as the district spokesperson and coordinates all media events.
  • Completes all public information and media requests.
  • Coordinates district special events, including employee/retiree recognition programs, convocation, top graduates luncheon, volunteer and business partner luncheon, teacher of the year gala and superintendent’s student and staff advisory council events.
  • Manages the Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) program.
  • Provides articles and photos to local media highlighting campus and district initiatives and events. 
  • Manages the district’s website content, mobile app, and social media networks.
  • Manages and directs the overall design of the weekly e-newsletter sent to over 10,000 subscribers and quarterly newspaper mailed to over 20,000 residents.

    North Forest Independent School District

    Served primarily as the media liaison and district spokesperson for North Forest ISD. Managed social media communications, completed media inquiries, drafted news releases, coordinated interviews, pitched stories, and organized press conferences and other public events for the district.

    • Communicated the district’s mission to the community and solicited its support in implementing the district’s mission.
    • Served as the district spokesperson and coordinated all media coverage.
    • Drafted letters, messages, and regular correspondence on behalf of the superintendent to disseminate information and request event sponsorship.
    • Prepared and distributed news releases regarding the district and school board activities to news media.
    • Created and managed social networking accounts gaining more than 5,000 “followers” and “friends.

    North Forest Independent School District

    Managed the district’s public information and communications activities including overseeing the design and implementation of internal and external media and reports; served as the district’s spokesperson; built and maintained mutually beneficial relationships with the local business community, political officials and key stakeholders; oversaw and established the district’s scholarship program.

    • Organized events and steering committee meetings to form the district’s official alumni association.
    • Raised over $60,000 for the district scholarship program by soliciting corporate sponsorships.
    • Assisted in writing a grant proposal for BP America in which the district was awarded $1 million dollars to start the BP Urban Energy Career Academy for high school students at North Forest High School.
    • Implemented the Family University Network (FUN) program, which offered workshops for parents regarding various topics ranging from financial planning to curriculum and instruction.
    • Established the Education Foundation for North Forest ISD, a 501 (c)(3) organization.
    • Facilitated the district’s strategic planning process.
