  • Participated in the design of the first Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Strategy for Lebanon, “Lebanon SME Strategy: A Roadmap to 2020”; the strategy defines sector challenges, imperatives, and detailed initiatives required to boost SME development, with charters and governance.         
  •  Developed and detailed initiatives related to improving access to finance for SMEs, such as: Attracting top-tier VCs and Angel investors, enhancing crowd funding and developing a secondary market for SME stock exchange
  • Contributed to the development of the Lebanon Open Innovation Week organized under the World Bank project “Mobile Internet Ecosystem Project”. Designed a number of public challenges that were solved by entrepreneurs in Lebanon. 3 startup companies emerged from this projects
  • Represented the public sector in the Global Entrepreneurship Week Lebanon committee and helped in developing its mission, objectives, work plan etc…
  • Participated in the design of a number of SME technical assistance projects with international organizations, among others, the World bank: MIEP($12.8M), SME technical assistance project($740K)
  • Benchmarked best practice initiatives relating to SME financing and presented lessons learned to senior officials at the Ministry of Economy and Trade and in workshops and conferences
  • Arranged and participated in the negotiations meetings between the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) mission, a USD 2 billion fund dedicated for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and different financial institutions including the central bank and a number of commercial banks. Two banks expressed their interest and sent letters of intent for USD 100 million
  • Co-Leading the SME observatory project along with a world bank team, to build a database on SMEs in Lebanon, with indicators on performance, productivity, employment etc…
