WHUR - Howard University Radio

I am responsible for creation, and overall content of "The Hang Suite", as one of the hosts of the show. "The Hang Suite" (launched this fall) is a weekly radio program, with a strong multimedia component centered around video content, podcasts, and social media.

Community Media of Baltimore City - People 75

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer and principal spokesperson for CMBC, and People 75. My key responsibilities included a variety of community media and public access related activities.

I built awareness, and worked to create partnerships that benefited public access television in Baltimore.

I lead and directed the development of educational learning for citizens interested in television production.

I worked to ensure the fair and equitable delivery of services, and encouraged the growth of diverse and quality programming.

I reported to a Board of Directors, worked effectively in a team environment, and interacted well with leaders of local government and community organizations.

The Baltimore Sun

Generated an online blog on the Baltimore Sun's website entitled "Off The Mic". I was responsible for writing daily original commentary, hosting video blog content, and audio podcasts on a wide range of topics.

Talk Show Host


Created, conceived, and contributed daily to an evening talk show titled “The Back Room”. Created the direction of the show, selected topics, and provided commentary on a wide range of information, from current affairs, to entertainment and politics.

I was also responsible for production, direction, and overall content of “The Troy Johnson Show”. I provided guidance for my producer to select relevant topics, and timely guests. I engaged the audience with commentary focused on the issues of the day, with an emphasis on politics, and current affairs.

Morning Show Host

Radio One, WERQ-FM

Contributed daily to the success of Baltimore’s #1 morning show “The Big Phat Morning Show” as one third of the on-air team.

I wrote and produced a wide range of material from bits, parody songs, and interview material, and contributed social commentary on today’s news and current affairs.

Produced, edited, and mixed down the audio content of the show.

Along with my partners on the show participated in a radio-thon entitled “92 Hours Of Peace” raising the awareness to the community about Baltimore’s increasing level of homicides. I also played an integral part in the kick-off of “Baltimore Believe” Mayor Martin O’Malley’s initiative on civic pride.
