I teach introductory level classes in communication. I am responsible for choosing appropriate textbooks, planning lectures that meet the objectives of the course, carrying out those lectures, grading materials and any other duties that may arise throughout the semester as the course progresses. I teach Introduction to Communication Media (CA 101), Public Speaking (CA 110), Argumentation (CA 210), Interpersonal Communication (CA 211), Communication in Organizations (CA 230), and Small Group Communication (CA 275) on a rotating basis.  I am currently working with a team to improve the hybrid version of the CA 110 Public Speaking course.

Graduate Assistant, Innovation in Learning Center

I assist faculty with developing online courses and utilizing technology in online and in-class courses, creating video

materials, podcasting,  job aids, and assisting in training courses.  As a team member, I assist faculty with course migration from eCollege to Sakai and develop and implement the Sakai training courses.  I am also working towards certification as a Peer Reviewer in the Quality Matters program.

I manage the CA110 course redesign team, provide LMS (Sakai) support for faculty and students, maintain the USAonline web presence, and perform other instructional design, graphic design, and web design duties as needed. I regularly use Adobe Captivate, Adobe Photoshop, Audacity, Sakai, and Microsoft Office.

I was a full-time sales representative for T-Mobile, a major wireless retailer. In addition to my retail sales duties, I was also responsible for the efficient operation of the store when the manager was not present. I coached and educated fellow employees, resolved discrepancies and conflicts with customers, and handled day-to-day office tasks.

I provided support for the large sections of public speaking taught by the communication department. I was responsible for two sections of public speaking each semester. I listened to and graded speeches for the principal instructor while also lecturing on several occasions both to my own sections and the full public speaking lecture group, consisting of a principal instructor and four graduate assistants
