Teaching Assistant

Institute of Business Administration

Selected as one of the first Teaching Assistant by Department of Marketing, IBA. I assisted Mr. Muqtadar Quraishi for the course "Supply Chian Management". My major responsiblities were:

  • Assisting in preparation of course outline and course material.
  • Grading of quizzes and assignments.
  • Input of grades in CMS portal

In addition to that I arranged two guest speaker sessions for the class at IBA CEE.




Worked as a faculty and prepared the verbal section for IBA Test Preparation Material Handbook. Assisted the proprieter in Business Development, finding new markets and formulating new strategies. 


Grading Assistant

Selected as Grading Assitant by three departments namely; Department of Economics & Finance, Department of Management, Department of Marketing. Worked with the following faculty members:

  • Dr. Heman D. Lohano, Department of Economics & Finance.
  • Ms. Rizwana Mujeeb, Department of Management.
  • Mr. Jami Moiz, Department of Marketing.

Major job responsiblities included:

  • Grading quizzes, assignments and project evaluation.
  • Facilitating faculty in other administrative tasks.

Adjunct Faculty

Newports Institute of Communications and Economics

Taught textile courses to B-Tech and BS classes. Prepared course outlines for 20 textile, management and marketing courses and suggested re-structuring of cirricula to the Director. Served as an advisor to the Director on policy issues and new business development strategies.

Intern, Displays & Graphics

3M Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.

Interned for summer 2008, I successfully completed the following projects:

  • Prepared a comprehensive customer data base for various catagories in Displays & Graphics division. It included segmented and verified contacts of more than 1400 current and potential customers for 3M products.
  • Implemented shop merchandizing plan for 3M Privacy Filters on 17 retail outlets in Karachi. The target duration was one week but the activity was completed in four days.
  • Worked with an advertising agency Creative Com to prepare the first ever advertising supplement for Scotch Print Graphics, a 3M brand. The supplement was punlished on September 01, 2008
  • Participated in End User Seminar for Commercial Graphics, sub division of Displays & Graphics to have better understading of the catagory profile, market trends and customer requirements. The seminar covered various 3M solutions and revolutionary architectural psuedo material Dinoc.

Chemist, Research & Development

Lucky Textile Mills

Directly appointed as Chemist owing to extraodinary academic record. During a brief period of seven months acted as a change agent and resolved long standing technical and procedural issues. Major examples are:

  • Worked on the pilot project of E-Control, an environmentally friendly process that reduces process costs and causes less harm to the eco system.
  • Handled the Supply Chain of Caustic Soda, key raw material for a textile wet-processing unit and actively worked to ensure stable supply, better inventory controls and no stock outs.
  • Worked with a cross funtional team to meet standard specifications for a US customer MEDLINE.

  • Pricing of Ice creams, a marketing project on pricing strategies of Ice cream at retail level. The impact of pricing brackets and the push strategies of different retailers regarding the product catagory.
  • Strategy of RB, a live case developed on Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan for the corporate strategy module.
  • UBL AMEX, a market research project for the lauch of American Express Cards by UBL and uplifting the image of the bank by attracting high end customers.
  • Advertisement Analysis, analysis of Clinic Plus Chulbuli campaign.
  • The PIA Resource, a strategic human resource presentation on PIA.
  • Driving the Islamic Way, a project on Islamic Ijarah and how it differentiates from Conventional Car Financing Schemes and Loans.

Summary of Skills

I believe in competing with myself and stretching my performance to higher levels. I enjoy positions of responsibility and over the years I have leadership roles in job/education while enriching myself with team building experience.

Besides educational and job activities, I have taken keen interest in Event Management, Film Making and Direction, Script Writing, Free lance writing and now I am exploring avenues of Digital Marketing and blogging.

My strengths include excellent analytical, communication, networking and presentation skills; leadership capabilities with a firm belief in team work; strong moral values and work ethics. Linguistic skills include proficiency in English and Urdu, and a fair understanding of Sindhi and Punjabi; hence can communicate with more than 120 million people in Pakistan.

Lauch of a Rice Brand at Retail Level

This project done as a team member of IBA Research Team comprising senior faculty members. The reason behind the research was that our client (a major rice exporter) wanted to launch thier brand in Pakistani market. The research focussed on the retail level strategies, competitor analysis, focus group studies, market surveys and product trials.
