The details of my responsibilities and key achievements are as follows:

  • Challenges faced: Restricted access, Environmental and Heritage Restrictions, Heavy Rock drilling and blasting, Multiple Interface issues with BHP, FMG, Camp accommodation: I have successfully handed these issues and have planned ahead to minimise any delay.
  • Design Finalization: Organized CBR testing data, traffic count and other input to finalize design.
  • TMP: I did draft TMP for Road works and liaison with Main Roads for approval
  • Materials Approval: I organized testing for materials and got MRWA approval.
  • Technical Query /RFI raising, ITPs, Quality Check list: Raise these and close,
  • Check TQ/New design for any Variations
  • Estimating, tendering and award of sub-contracts for Soil-Investigations, Concrete, Building Supply, and Machine hire, Traffic Management, Material supply.
  • Execution of contracts, Led team including 2 Engineers, Planner, Contract Advisor, Safety Advisors, Supervisors at site, Safety First attitude
  • Design change and Variations: I highlighted promptly any design change and associated Variations. I have been working as per AS2885.
  • Schedule monitoring and cost control: Monitored schedule on weekly basis and prepared ‘Weekly Progress Report’
  • Checked final measurements, method of measurement and captured more than $3m of items missing/paid under wrong items.
  • Change Management: Raise any variations due to change in drawings, designs, specifications, See that documents are distributed properly.
