Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:
·Heading a profit centre consisting six merchants and a supply chain manager who works in close coordination to achieve the set targets efficiently, consistently increasing revenue and decreasing costs Develop a merchandising plan, which delivers overall business objectives in terms of volume, value targets and delivery phasingand to ensure effective implementation of the plan through meeting the Time and action deadlines set for every week.
·Responsibilities include booking of orders, pricing of products and looking after all the related account and their approvals as in all stages of fabric development, lab dipping, sampling (proto-samples, sales-samples, size sets & pre-production samples.
·Kept up-date knowledge & follow-up on related shipment dates, vessel schedules, lead times, L/C acknowledgement & payments etc.
·To evaluate the specific fabric against the given different wash standard and to make sure the fabric should must dipped with different Indigo recipe to achieve the different wash standards as per the customers requirement.
·In conjunction with line sign off to ensure that an appropriate level of creativity is reflected in the final line selection through close contact with the design team keeping production feasibility as the primary aspect.
·Submit fabric samples for tests & evaluate resultsliaise between production factory and the buyer to ensure correct quality is produced with smooth functioning in all the areas.
·Coordinate all business functions i.e. administration, liaising with buying houses and buyers, costing, sampling, production follow-up, quality control, logistics functions, public relations related work, office management and dealing export team for export orders.
·Prepared work schedule and conduct the meetings with the related staff in order to obtain better results during sampling and production.
·Relationship management with international buyers and dealing with buying houses for profitable product merchandising.
·Monitoring the procedures & systems followed in production to ensure compliance with the quality norms & standards of the company.
Leading a team of 8-10 people including Merchandising, MMC and Fabric Sourcing.
